Welcome to Medical Alert Systems Reviews!

Medical Alert Systems ReviewsFirstly let me shout out a big welcome to you. I started this site because, like a lot of people, I had elderly parents and was concerned about their ability to safely live independently.  They of course (they have passed now, unfortunately) would not hear anything about leaving their home.  When I look back ,when they were here, I recall many times that they had problems and needed help and would not have been able to fend for themselves.  Fortunately, either I or my brother happened to be with them when problems took place and were able to take them to the hospital.

I didn’t feel comfortable when I looked in the mirror and realized that we just happened to be with them when they had problems.  At the time there were only cell phones, and neither would have been able to use one at the specific problem times.

Since then new medical alert systems have been developed and are on the market.  As a result of our experiences, I’ve been on a mission to find a good safety system for elderly parents and peace of mind for children that constantly worry about their parents ability to function independently or may just have an accident and not be able to use a phone (or get to one) to call for help.

If you have not found what you are looking for, please feel free to search further:

There are many individuals existing alone and at risk of healthcare issues. Difficulties could appear instantly, and there would be nobody available to provide help. In such conditions, having a reliable Medical Alert System could be the best way for getting healthcare help. With a press of the switch or button, help can be called before it is too late.

As a result of my mission I decided to make this Medical Alert Systems Reviews website to present various products that may be helpful.  In this site I intend to educate others on what they can expect to see in terms of various medical alert systems and the benefits to look for in a medical alert product.  Also what you can do so firstly get it at the cheapest price and secondly avoid being scammed by false or misleading claims of a product that does absolutely nothing…oh yes they are out there!

Medical Alert Systems ReviewsSince you’ve reached this Medical Alert Systems Reviews home page of my site, you’ll be able to find out exactly what you need to know from the areas below:

Testimonials/Reviews:
Reviews or testimonials of products are important in making an assessment of Medical Alert Systems.  Medical Alert Systems Reviews,  provided by certain companies, may be very biased to their own products.  So be cautious about what you read and what they are promoting. If you take a close look, you can see which Medical Alert System or Business they are really promoting.  It may be best to find Medical Alert Systems Reviews from independent reviewers before making a decision.

For example, a company listed on Underwriter’s Laboratory (UL) is generally a good quality company and has passed several standards of evaluation for Medical Alert Systems.

Key Points Of Service:
There are hundreds of Medical Alert Systems’ companies.  Some of these organizations are worldwide and have locations all around the world. Their support can essentially be identified as distant monitoring and crisis communication for individuals in need. When you start their services, they hook up the home of the individual with their central monitoring center and also provide the individual a handheld control bracelet (or some other product) that lets them communicate with the companies call center when they need.

These facilities are open for crisis calls/contact 24 hours a day and are especially useful for older individuals. It doesn’t matter where in the home they need healthcare treatment, with just one press of a button they are connected with people who can send an emergency vehicle to the property right away and advise the household about the situation. When a crisis call comes in, one healthcare pro advises while someone else sends an emergency vehicle.

You can also have fixed crisis links put in different places of the home. If there are two or more individuals in the same home, every one of them can have an crisis bracelets or watch for communication.  Something that you can keep with you at all times is KEY to safety.  If this is not available – Move on!!!

Some companies allow you to personalize your Medical Alert System plan with characteristics such as:

  • Phoning a friend or relative in a crisis
  • Monitoring your medicines and planned doctors visits.
  • A button or other easy to push item, eliminates the need for a telephone should one be out of reach
  • Some systems also come with an “Emergency Card “which will allow responders to swiftly check your medical conditions in a crisis.
  • May serve as a passive alarm.  Senior’s can push button several times day to let others know they are OK.  If not activated, the company can call to check on the persons’ condition.
  • The contact “button” should have extended range or cellular “tie in.” Just in case the client is traveling or walking etc.
  • Most are designed to be attached to the body (bracelets, necklace etc.). Other more innovative products continue to be developed.

Costs:
Healthcare security organizations usually develop per month agreements around $20-40 per month. Which means you can always end your plan and move to a different service.  Some offer “free” service.  Be careful.  I know everyone wants to keep costs down, however, what good is a service if it is free and you cannot contact anyone?

Contact To Service:
Some of these organizations delegate their inbound calls to non-company “call centers”. This may cause significant waiting when support is wanted. This is bad and should not be accepted.  Remember being “put on hold” when you call 911?  Not good. Therefore before buying service you must be certain that they have their own call centers and the typical connect times.

Companies Offering Service:
There are a multitude of companies offering Medical Alert Systems to the market.  Many are good and some are not.  Here at Medical Alert Systems Reviews, currently we do not recommend any one company.  However, we provide information of what makes up a good service which should make it easy to make a decision on a service. With that said below are several companies that offer Medical Alert Systems that will be a good starting point in your search.

  • ADT ®
  • American Medical Alarms ™
